Seminar: Crediting of other income

No work, no pay – right? Stephan Altenburg speaks on the crediting of earnings from other sources.

What sounds like a good deal for employees – receiving wages without working – raises complicated legal issues in practice. There are situations in which the employer must make payments even though the employees are not working: For example, if the employees have been prohibited from working for a competitor company for a certain period of time after termination of the employment relationship (Section 74 of the Commercial Code) or if the employee is on leave of absence.

In reality, however, the deal is not quite as good as it sounds at first: for the employee is obliged to seek other employment, which must then be offset against the payment claims against the employer.

Stephan Altenburg, partner of the law firm ALTENBURG, will use current case law as well as practical examples to explain how employers can counter payment claims of this kind and what can be done in practice to keep the burden on the company as low as possible.

The event will take place on Thursday, 19 October 2023, at 7.00 p.m. at ZAAR (Centre for Industrial Relations and Labour Law), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Destouchesstraße 68 (4th floor), 80796 Munich.

Participation is free of charge.
